    The difference in material between the Prusa XL and the BambuLab X1 with AMS is also lower the more prints you do at the same time. The the test you made is only really valid if you buy the XL to print a single small multi-colour object at a time - which seems somewhat unlikely as well. The waste will still be there, but the waste (and switching time) will be constant even if you print 20 benchys at the same time.

    I think that it's ridiculous to the point that it's kind of cute how you people obsess over something so niche like 3d printers as if they were some kind of must have gadget like a phone. Bruh you literally spend hundreds of dollars to print pieces of plastic that'll most likely end up forgotten in a corner of the house because you didn't even think where to put them.

    700$ for a 3d printing beginner is just insanely retarded go buy a anycubic kobra 2/2 pro or elegoo neptune 4 / 4 pro, costs around 350$ and u get a hightech machine that prints fast and reliably and for the next few years lmao ps: ive got my first 3d printer like 10 years ago and ive had a few so far, i did it and still 3d printing as a hobby to have fun and show my creativity with 3d designing myself and for that u dont need 700$ or even 1200$ get a `cheap' printer and some free 3d programs like plasticity/fusion360/sketchup and let ur thoughts and ideas get to life

    I can tell you what is the target market for printing small multi-material models: wargaming. Wargame models are usually fairly small and printing them in multicolor means you have an army ready pretty much straight off the print bed.

  • @KiaranScath
    @KiaranScath 21 годину тому

    I won't buy a Bamboo printer for the same reason I wouldn't buy a iPhone, freedom. I don't want some company thousands of miles away making decisions for something I supposedly own. The XL is also a true multi-material machine, where the Bamboo AMS is just a multi-color machine. Since the X1 and other share a nozzle, if you have materials that require different printing temperatures, you have to wait for the nozzle to heat up and cool down every material change.

    Man its hard to pay attention to absolutely anything these 3d print videos that these guys do. I start off paying attention, but each and every subject they bring up they talk about every tiny detail and then try to add some of their personality to it which makes even more difficult pay attention. Life is short get to the point with out the anecdotal BS. Stop going on long winded diatribes because literal no ones cares. I only clicked on this video to get a quick name of a good 3D printer. Turn a 2 minute video into a mini series. This is not just your video its every video I watched so far on 3d printer reviews. Eye.....eye........EEEYYYYEEEAAA

    Prusa delivers on the philosophy and ethics I wish more companies had, but I simply can't afford their products and do not want the drawbacks their products have.. Bambu does not match my ethics, but does deliver really good products that I can afford. It is a dilemma.

    Very impressive from an industrial engineering perspective! I know many manufacturers that fail at the seemingly simple things like proper inventory management and work center design. As you continue to scale, you will want to consider defining your standard work. This will give you a detailed understanding of your processes and allow you quickly identify and attack bottlenecks.

    I don't think the situation is as dramatic as iPhone to blackberry. The paradigm's aren't so different. If prusa were to release a smaller volume core xy with multitool head and single zone heated bed I bet it would be a lot more price competitive with the bambu printers. The prusa machines still seem to hold the edge in reliability.

    I disagree with almost every point here. The XL price you named is for the most expensive configuration with 5 toolheads, but the one with 2 costs 30% less and already lets you print PLA with PETG supports etc. Part of the price is also from the fact Prusa production is in Europe. Also from what I've read the other multi-"material" setups actually struggle to work with actual different materials instead of just mixed colors. And I'm not sure the XL supports it but in theory separate toolheads means you could even mix different nozzles in one print. So far it's the only multimaterial setup that looks like it could actually work reliably. Your claim that the XL was launched as panicked response to the X1C is weird given the XL was announced years before that. You assume that printers are like smartphones and that the iPhone is strictly better. Well, they aren't, and while I have an iPhone I would never buy a printer that connects with an app. I considered buying the X1C once but I'll likely go for the XL instead. The only thing it's seriously missing is an official enclosure, but given they just launched one for the Mini I assume Prusa just takes their time with that as always.
